The Lodge
The Lodge is inspired by Maasai bomas, around a main Lodge that faces a waterhole.
The main house
The lodge is thoughtfully inspired by the traditional Maasai boma
The main building at Randilen Plains is the heart of the Lodge, a warm and welcoming space to relax, dine and take in the beauty of the African wilderness. With its natural surroundings and inviting atmosphere, it is the perfect place to unwind, share stories and enjoy the magic of the plains.

There are only six bandas. Each sleeps up to three guests and has its own bathroom and private outdoor space, so the lodge never feels like more than a handful of people and the plains around them.

A Lodge with a past
From research base to lodge
The lodge began life as a small research base established by Belgian volcanologist Ben Beckman, and was later developed into the lodge it is today.
Today, Randilen Plains begins a new chapter under new ownership. Having grown up in Kenya and now living in Tanzania with his family, the owner has a lifelong connection to East Africa and a deep passion for its wild places. Today, that passion is focused on protecting Randilen’s wilderness and ensuring it can be enjoyed and preserved for generations to come.
Exclusive use
The entire lodge, entirely yours.
All six bandas can be reserved for your party alone.
