Randilen Lodge

In the quiet presence of the wild

Inspired by the Maasai bomas

Randilen Lodge is a permanent retreat set within the Greater Tarangire ecosystem, designed to blend naturally into the surrounding landscape.

Inspired by the circular form of traditional Maasai bomas and envisioned by a renowned Spanish architect, the lodge blends organic architecture with contemporary restraint. The result is a space that feels both grounded and refined, rooted in place yet quietly distinctive.

Here, architecture frames the wilderness without competing with it.

The bandas

naturally within the landscape

The lodge consists of six circular bandas, generously spaced to preserve privacy, space and uninterrupted views across the plains.

Designed with natural materials and warm, earthy tones, each banda reflects the surrounding environment. Permanent in structure yet soft in expression, the architecture allows the lodge to sit naturally within the landscape.

Each banda offers:

  • Spacious sleeping area
  • En-suite bathroom
  • Private outdoor space
  • Thoughtfully curated interiors inspired by local textures and forms

Designed for generous space and privacy, each banda accommodates up to three guests without compromising its sense of seclusion.

The atmosphere is intimate, considered and quietly luxurious.

Life at the lodge

the rhythm of the wilderness

At the heart of Randilen Lodge stands the main building, an open and generous structure where dining, gathering and quiet observation unfold against a constant backdrop of wilderness.

The veranda extends toward a natural waterhole located just in front of the lodge. Throughout the day, elephants and other wildlife gather at its edge, visible from the dining area, lounge and pool terrace.

Meals are served overlooking this scene, creating a rare continuity between rest and safari. The swimming pool is positioned to blend seamlessly into the landscape and mirrors the surrounding plains while offering uninterrupted views of the waterhole beyond.

Let the days follow the rhythm of the wild

freedom and exclusivity

Days unfold at a measured pace. Mornings begin with early light stretching across open plains. The heat of the afternoon settles into stillness. By evening, the air cools and attention shifts outward, as the sounds of the bush rise in the distance and the pool & bar area becomes a natural place to pause and reflect on the day.

From the lodge, guests depart for:

  • Morning and afternoon game drives
  • Night safaris within the private conservation area
  • Off-road tracking opportunities
  • Guided walking safaris
  • Bush breakfasts and dinners under open skies

The private setting allows for flexibility beyond national park limitations, offering both freedom and exclusivity.
